It is difficult to use

The mic arm by itself is alright. I was able to connect it to the desk, but it doesn't have enough latches on it to keep it in place, and it is super tough to move around. My MAIN problem with it is attaching the mic to it. If the mic is too heavy, like an 80 dollar mic, it wont stay, the screw will continue to loosen and the mic will fall off the mic arm. I know it is not my mic causing the problem, because the screw to attach the mic to the arm came with the arm itself. I tried to search up workarounds but there is nothing for it, so I have to return the mic arm and hope for one that can actually hold the Fifine microphone I have.

Not perfect, but not bad at all

Overall an excellent product! Mounts easily, includes additional threads to mount the Yeti, plus plumbers tape. The offset of the springs at the hinges does give the arm additional strength over competitors. The arm is basically otherwise identical to a drafter's lamp swing arm. I didn't give it 5 stars because I mounted the arm to a vertical surface instead of a horizontal (desk) surface, hoping to mount it so it could be swung up and down as needed and my desk hutch offered me a shelf divider that I could fit the arm into. The weight of the mic in my admittedly unusual mounting position caused the arm to droop so I could only swing it aside, not up and down. It would be completely perfect if they added a thumb screw to the hinge closest to the desk mount because then I would have gotten the ability to tighten it for any conceivable mounting option. Also, when you mount your Yeti, be cautious of the USB cable and plug while adjusting the mic on the stand. as the clearance is very slim. If they lengthened the mounting "pin" (I guess is what I would call it) by another inch or two, it would clear perfectly. The drawback to this is that it increases the likelihood the mic will be less stable, but that is mostly controlled by a thumb screw at the pin hinge.

Despite my unorthodox mounting option, this is definitely a good quality and inexpensive mounting arm. For a traditional mount, it holds the Blue Yeti mic nicely. The dual layer windscreen & foam cap windscreen are decent.

Excellent boom arm for the Blue Yeti!

I own a Blue yeti and NEEDED to get it off its OEM stand because it’s practically a VIBRATION MAGNET. A while back I bought a scissor arm for the yeti. It was okay, but then the pin broke in the middle of recording and the springs were crap. So for 6 months I just gave up. Then, I saw this. It said it supported the blue yeti so I was skeptical. Did some research and came to the conclusion that it was okay. It arrives in the mail a few days later, and I IMMEDIATELY loved it! Blue yeti owners finally have a cheaper very well built option!
